Our Mission

Our Mission is to create a learning space in Costa Rica for at-risk young local adults to be changed, be treated with dignity, learn self reliance and become empowered through the practice of organic sustainable agriculture.

VidaRaiz{LifeRoot} works in Costa Rica with At-Risk young adults by guiding them to regain focus in their lives through the practice of Sustainable Agriculture, while incorporating Community Outreach, Self-sustainability, Education and Mentoring.

In poor coastal towns of Costa Rica, young adults can feel purposeless, hopeless and even lost with no future. Although 96% of young adults are literate; the high school graduation rate is only 40%, and only 5% of residents earn a college degree, which means that a 19-year-old is barely finishing 6th grade.

As a small organization, we depend on the generosity of donors like you. Your tax-exempt donation will: 

• Further develop infrastructure, outreach,
• The purchase or lease of a Learning Organic Farm that will serve as a home base for us to concentrate on working with the At-Risk young adult demographics.
• Invest in working with At-Risk young adults in the areas of sustainable agriculture, leadership and character develpment.
